Hi all. I'm looking at doing my first 3000 piece puzzle. Any advice on what to use as a puzzle board. Dimensions seem to be about 4' x 3', in old money!

go to homebase, b and q or wickes and ask if the have an offcuts, or make the most of your dining room table

Hi Desmo,

The big dining table is a good idea.....if you've got one!  I can only fit up to 1000's on mine.  A custom made board sounds like a good idea to me.

Do you puzzle alone, or with your partner? Bet she can't wait to get started on the 3000! You'd better get a move on and get to B&Q sharpish!  A puzzler without a puzzle gets very bad tempered indeed!

Oh, I just wondered what type of picture this 3000 piece puzzle of your has.  What are it's main features???

do remember to take a photograph of you with your large completed puzzles, and send them in to Margaret. Who knows you may even appear in the following newsletter.

I do puzzle with my partner, but she often leaves me to do the hard bits! . Perhaps it's man/woman thing!

Are the fairer sex better at certain aspects of puzzling? Are men worse at others?

Am I just teasing to invite opinion? Or am I a sexist pig!!!!

Re the 'hard bits'.....Are you sure she's not just leaving the BORING bits to you?? -  like the sky etc etc.....while she concentrates on the more interesting and stimulating parts of the puzzle!

I think women have a much keener eye and can spot pieces more easily, even in a relatively full box! My partner's a bit crafty there, coz I'm constantly picking out the pieces for him to put in! That's when I tend to miss out on doing the puzzle itself!

By the way.....Have you got that large board sorted yet???
