The first and most important one is an old jigsaw puzzle that has great
sentimental value to me. My late Mum bought it for me in 1964.

It shows a cross country motorcycle race, with motorcycles following a route uphill from the distance on the left side of the puzzle, across a rough path to the foreground of the puzzle. There are groups of spectators, including a large group on the right foreground, and dominating the centre foreground is a motorcycle and rider. The background of the puzzle shows fields separated by hedges, and a mountain or large hill in the distance.

I do not know the name of the manufacturer or the title of the puzzle.

I'd be grateful if any of you have any information. :)

Thank you,

David Sakho
What surface for larger puzzles.

Hi all. We have a small three-dimensional wooden cello puzzle made by an artist/craftsman. It was taken to pieces by our grandson, and now we aren’t adept enough to put it together again. We have managed in the past, though, when we had carefully disassembled it. Would anyone be interested in having a go? Preferably a Londoner, as we would prefer not to send it by post.

how do you complete your jigsaws

we get alot of mail from customers telling us the approaches they take to putting together their jigsaws. some go by colour, some start on the edges and some even take hours sorting the peices into shape.

So jiggers, how do you do your puzzles??

12,000 Ravensburger "Creation of Adam" jigsaw puzzle open to offers

Hello,

Anyone interested in buying this huge puzzle from me?

This is a very rare jigsaw, it's no longer produced, an amazing opportunity to aquire this master piece. These puzzles were odd shaped pieces which fit within a plastic frame. I sent for the four easiest ones... managed to put together the yellow, blue, and red ones... but never did finish the one that had the most pieces. I can't remember exactly, but it seems to me that the numbers of the pieces were five, nine, 13 and 23... not real sure of those numbers.

The fifth puzzle was a contest... less than 1000 pieces, I believe... and a nice monetary prize for completing it. Within a couple months, I read that someone with a computer had solved it!

Does anyone here remember this puzzle contest?? Do you remember what the name of the puzzles were?

I'd really appreciate any information anyone has about the contest puzzle, or the other much smaller puzzles.

Thanks!

Unfinished puzzle storage

Hi. Just wondering if anyone can suggest the best way of keeping/storing unfinshed puzzles. I haven't done a puzzle for years and have just bought myself a few. I have 2 young children so won't always have time to spend making them and will need to put them safely away. I've seen the roll-up type and the fold up folder type.

Any suggestions please.

Many thanks,

Tony

Does anyone knows the name of the following Revansburgers jigsaws?

Hi,

i came past a few jigsaws in my Revansburger Jigsae cataloge and i'm interested in. but sadly they only stated their ID and not the name of the jigsaws so just wandering if anyone the name of the following jigsaws:

1000 pcs Starline
-------------------
16053
16063
16064
16066
16080

1000 pcs Standard

--------------------
15478
15535
15685
15772

3000 pcs Standard
---------------------
17017
17054

2000 pcs Standard
---------------------
16616
16620
Puzzle Picture Title

Hi All,
A long time ago, I completed a 3000 piece jigsaw, made by Waddingtons if I remember correctly.

I liked it so much, I decided to make it into a picture for the wall. I put a backing on it, ready for it to be framed.

It got put under the bed.....but never quite made it to the final stage:doze:

A couple of years later, I took it apart and was really looking forward to doing it again.....but it dawned on me that the box had been thrown away!:w00t: (I ended up storing it in a biscuit tin!)

Determined and undeterred, I completed it without the picture to help me.......but I would love to be able to find a copy of the picture somehow, although I don't remember it's 'title'.

Does anyone know where or how I could find it?? I remember the picture and could describe much of it....but that's as far as it goes!
PLEASE HELP!:)
